This briefing document was a task to take a system or mechanic with the game and create a design document for that specific area. For Solace I chose to explore the complex combat mechanics within the game and I discussed why these were needed within the game and how they would be designed accompanied by tables and diagrams showcasing all of these concepts.

I had several sections including, different weapon types, different weapon makes, weapon personalities and how they affect gameplay, enemy types, weapon modifications the player can do, weapon rarities as well as utilities the player can use. Alongside weapons and enemies, levelling and progression was also an important part of how combat works since the player can acquire different skills in trees and that affects their playstyle, I made example ability trees and explained how combat scaled in different parts of the map which ties into the level design of the game as well.
